Institute on Aging

The Institute on Aging (IOA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Bay Area seniors and their families by promoting independence and providing comprehensive support. As a leading advocate for older adults, IOA offers home care and case management services, operates San Francisco’s Elder Abuse Prevention Program, and runs The Friendship Line, a 24-hour suicide prevention and emotional support line for seniors. Additionally, IOA manages adult day care centers for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) for medical and therapeutic care, and CONNECT, a free community referral service for elder-related resources. By bringing together experts, advocates, and caregivers, IOA strives to make aging a positive and supported experience.
