New Testament

Description

Second major part of the Christian biblical canon, following the Old Testament. It is a collection of 27 books written in Greek in the 1st century AD, focusing on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the early Christian community's formation and spread. The New Testament begins with the four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—which recount the life of Jesus from different perspectives. It includes the Acts of the Apostles, a historical account of the early Christians; the Pauline and General Epistles, letters offering theological guidance and practical advice to Christian congregations; and concludes with the Book of Revelation, a prophetic and apocalyptic vision of the end times and the coming of God's Kingdom.
