Confucianism

Philosophical and ethical system based on the teachings of Confucius, a Chinese philosopher who lived from 551 to 479 BCE. It emphasizes moral integrity, familial loyalty, respect for elders and authority, and the importance of education and ritual in cultivating virtue and social harmony. Central to Confucianism is the concept of Ren (humaneness), which guides personal and governmental conduct, deeply influencing Chinese culture, social structures, and political ideals.
