Marriott Data Breach

Cyber operatives, suspected to be working for the Chinese government, infiltrated the reservation systems of Marriott International, compromising data of about 500 million guests. The attackers collected names, phone numbers, email addresses, passport numbers, and travel information, over four years before detection. This extensive data collection effort is believed to be part of a larger strategy by Chinese intelligence to compile a comprehensive database of information for espionage purposes.
