Dorie Clark, born in 1978, is a recognized author and serves as an executive education professor at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.

Early Life and Academic Background Born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Clark took a unique academic path by leaving high school at the age of 14 to join the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted at Mary Baldwin College (now University) located in Staunton, Virginia.

Later on, Clark transferred to Smith College situated in Northampton, Massachusetts. She graduated with high honors, magna cum laude, in 1997, earning a BA in Philosophy. She was also honored with an induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Following her undergraduate studies, Clark pursued a Master of Theological Studies degree at Harvard Divinity School, completing it in 1999.

Professional Journey Clark has had the opportunity to lecture and teach at various prestigious universities globally, including Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts; IE Business School in Madrid, Spain; and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO in Moscow, Russia. She also had the honor of speaking at the U.S. Library of Congress.

The New York Times has recognized Clark as an “expert in self-reinvention and aiding others in making life changes.” She is a regular contributor to notable publications such as Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, and Business Insider. Additionally, Clark hosts “Better,” a weekly video interview segment for Newsweek.

Clark initiated her professional journey as a journalist with The Boston Phoenix, an alternative newsweekly.

Moving into the political realm, she took on the role of press secretary during former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich’s 2002 gubernatorial campaign in Massachusetts, which did not succeed. Later on, she served as the New Hampshire Communication Director for Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential bid.
