DEMO 08/31/2023
This week I worked a lot on the structure of the News space. Thanks to the help of Yaniv and Arturas, I simplified the space, the main idea is to facilitate the arrival of new editors in the space and to allow them an easy and organic handling, to build a structure that allows an objective reading and analysis of the news.
To be sure that the new Types and Attributes would work well, I focused on "test" editions. For example I added a movie in the Film space and then I added reviews (Opinion Type) in the News space.
I re-edited the News event "Facebook and Instagram's news blackout in Canada", I updated it with recent articles that give relief to this highly contested decision. But the biggest change is the come back of Questions, they allow us to understand the complexity of an Event at a glance. The What question (What Happened, What is the position of, What to watch for) is key for News event, other Questions (Why, What does it mean) will rather be reserved for the Analysis Type.
I added the News event "60th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech". The idea being to experiment with an easily objective event, to add few Stakeholders to observe and measure the ease of editing. Once again the Questions are very important, they arise at the end of the edition once all the Claims are raised. I also tested editing the Background section using the Value Type Relation instead of Text, and it seems to work.
