DEMO 09/07/2023
To begin the week, I returned to my beloved Sustainability space. I added several projects to observe the functioning of the structure, everything works well, it is nevertheless necessary to make some modifications to simplify it a little more.
I then focused on the History space, I made big changes to the structure, I rebuilt on the same basis as the News space, Historic figures are the same that stakeholders from News space, and the historic events can now be edited using claims.
To test how these Types work, I edited the Historic event "March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom"
The idea is to edit the event differently, without making a copy paste from Wikipedia, to bring exclusive content to Geo and to make the best use of its discussion potential using Claims.
The first step is to look for sources, in this case the problem is that there are too many sources.
I focused on 8 sources: a documentary (primary source), an NYT article from the day after the event (primary source), Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech (primary source), an interview with Clarence B. Jones (primary source, witness to the event and Former Martin Luther King, Jr. adviser and speechwriter), a secondary source considered authoritative on the subject (National Museum of African American History and Culture), the Program from civil rights march on Washington, DC. (primary source), and the President Kennedy's statement after the event (primary source).
These sources are mostly CC by 4.0 or belong to the public domain. I extracted claims from these sources, the claims are attached to the Topic "Political history" and its subtopic "Civil Rights". They are sourced with their Historical source but also with the event to be able to filter them inside the Topic.
Historic figures are also edited using Historical sources and Claims. They are relatable to events, just as sources are relatable to figures and events. (e.g. Martin Luther King Jr.)
I used the wonderful documentary film The March by James Blue as a source, so I also added it in the Film space with a link to be able to watch it.
