Le Monde Libre is a French press holding company which owns 72.5% of Le Monde Group and 99% of the weekly L'Obs. Le Monde libre is equally controlled by French billionaires Xavier Niel and Matthieu Pigasse, who each own 40% of the shares, the remaining 20% belonging to the Spanish press group Prisa. Its head office is located at 16, rue de la Ville-l'Évêque, in the premises of the Iliad group, owned and managed by Xavier Niel.
