Ceasefire agreement during operation protective edge
After weeks of intense fighting, a ceasefire agreement was reached on August 26, 2014, effectively ending Operation Protective Edge. This agreement was brokered by Egypt and involved indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The ceasefire led to a temporary halt in hostilities, but many of the underlying issues remained unresolved. The conflict resulted in significant loss of life, widespread destruction in Gaza, and continued humanitarian concerns.
