Shin Bet: Israel's Internal Security Service

Shin Bet, also known by its Hebrew acronym "Shabak," stands as Israel's internal security service. Similar to the FBI in the United States, it plays a pivotal role in Israel's national security apparatus. The Shin Bet was established in 1949, shortly after the foundation of the State of Israel. Its initial goal was to combat the myriad security threats facing the nascent state, including infiltrations from neighboring countries and internal subversion.
