This is possible because BoLD’s design ensures disputes will be resolved within a fixed time window, currently set to equal one challenge period (~6.4 days) for Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. If there is a dispute, BoLD guarantees the maximum total time to be equal to two challenge periods…plus a small delta for computing challenges
