The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is tasked with overseeing consumer financial markets in order to protect consumers from unfair practices and fraud. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
