Homeland Security

Homeland Security refers to efforts to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from potential threats and hazards to the nation. This encompasses a range of issues, including terrorism, natural disasters, cyber threats, and pandemics. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the primary federal agency responsible for overseeing and implementing homeland security initiatives, but coordination occurs across multiple federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial entities.

Voters may evaluate practices and policies for homeland security with regards to the allocation of resources for homeland security efforts, strategies for border management, measures taken to protect critical infrastructure, and the balance between security measures and individual rights.
